Queens Roundabout Improvements - Farnborough
Queens Roundabout Improvements - Farnborough

Dyer & Butler Ltd have been appointed as the contractor to deliver this project for Hampshire County Council. The purpose of this web site is to provide information on Progress of the works, Traffic Management arrangements and other issues of importance to local residents, businesses & motorists.

Further information is available on the section tabs above and at the Hampshire County Council website.

The scheme involves the introduction of traffic lights on all four approach roads to the roundabout, widening of these roads and circulating carriageway, and provision of pedestrian and cycle facilities.

The main works at Queens Roundabout and its approach roads will complete by the end of May 2016.

For the duration of the works, a minimum of one lane will always be open around the roundabout and on approach roads.  Whilst the bulk of the works will be undertaken between Monday and Friday, it may on occasion be necessary to undertake essential works during the weekend. As always, we endeavour to keep any disruption to a minimum.

Some key features of the scheme include:

  • installation of traffic lights on all four approach roads to the roundabout
  • widening of the approach roads
  • improved pedestrian and cycle crossings
  • provision of pedestrian and cycle path facilities

Traffic at Queens Roundabout in Farnborough is often congested, particularly during peak travel periods. With proposed new commercial and residential developments nearby, traffic levels are set to increase. The improvement works at the Queens Roundabout is the first in a set of transport improvements in the coming years.

This scheme is aiming to reduce congestion and improve access to new homes and businesses in Farnborough and Aldershot. The Pinch Point Programme is designed to address exsisting and future traffic hot spots, which is vital for economic growth.
